K-Embroid is proud to be one of the few garment factories in Vietnam to achieve OEKO TEX STANDARD 100 certification.

With 5 consecutive years of certification, it is an affirmation of K-Embroid’s commitment to the mission of bringing users, especially infants and young children, products that are truly safe for health. Let’s learn about Oeko-Tex Standard 100 – the standard that has been certified for all of our products!

1. What is OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certification?

This is the world’s most prestigious certificate on the safety of textile products announced and applied by the Hohenstein Testing Institute in Germany and the Institute für Oekologie, Technik und Innovation ÖTI (Wien/Austria) in 1992.

Products that meet the OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 standard will undergo over 100 testing criteria such as formaldehyde concentration, pesticides, extractable heavy metals, organic chlorine derivatives and preservatives such as tetra- and pentachlorophenol…

This certificate is renewed once a year, so businesses will have to undergo rigorous tests and renew the certificate annually.

2. Conditions to achieve the OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certificate

To achieve this prestigious certificate, we had to meet all the following conditions:

• Comply with the criteria to avoid and limit toxic substances in the production process.
• Comply with waste standards in the field of wastewater and exhaust gas.
• Efficient energy consumption.
• Less noise and dust pollution.
• Effective and reasonable labor protection methods.

Not only that, in addition to the main fabric, sewing threads, printing, buttons, zippers, snaps and all accessories used to make clothes must meet the necessary standards, that is, they must be tested or have OEKO TEX 100 certification.

3. Levels of OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certification

• Level I – Products for infants and young children (up to 36 months old).
• Level II – Products that come into direct contact with the skin over a large area and for a long time.
• Level III – Textile products that do not or have very little contact with the skin.
• Level IV – Interior decoration materials (used for decorative purposes).

K-Embroid reaching level I is the safest product, which can be considered completely pure, with no toxic chemical residues on the product.

4. How to authenticate OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certificate

OEKO-TEX 100 has become a standard that many businesses want to achieve to prove the safety of their products. However, achieving this certificate is not easy and must be renewed once a year. That is why the OEKO-TEX 100 certificate is being counterfeited to deceive consumers’ trust.

A standard OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certificate must have a certification code and can be checked on the website https://www.oeko-tex.com/en/label-check. Customers can check the certificate themselves in this way.
